Payidar Gondol

Türkiye’de Cumhuriyet, hem egemenliğin millete verildiği demokratik yönetim biçimini, hem de laik ve çağdaş bir devleti ifade eder. Cumhuriyetin temelleri 23 Nisan 1920’de Ankara’da açılan TBMM’de atılmıştır. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti, I ve II. TBMM’nin aldığı kararlarla biçimlenmiştir.
Payidar Gondol, II. Meclis salonunun balkonundaki defne ve meşe dallarıyla süslü, ay yıldızlı görselden esinlenerek tasarlanmıştır. Genelde zaferin ve barışın simgesi olarak kullanılan defne, kimi zaman da kahramanlık, bilgelik, güzellik ve ölümsüzlüğü; meşe ise gücü, kudreti, bilgeliği sembolize etmektedir. Meclis balkonundaki defne ve meşe dallarıyla süslü ay yıldızı görselin işlendiği Payidar Gondol, TBMM’nin gücünü, Atatürk’ün liderliğindeki bağımsızlık savaşının önemini, zor ulaşılan barışın değerini ve Cumhuriyetin sürekliliğini simgelemektedir.
Payidar Gondol, el imalatı camdan üretilmiş, üzerindeki rölyef desenlerin tümü el işçiliği ile altın yaldız kullanılarak dekorlanmıştır.

In Türkiye, the Republic signifies both a democratic form of government in which sovereignty is given to the nation as well as a secular and modern state. The foundations of the Republic were laid in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye established in Ankara on April 23, 1920. The Republic of Türkiye was shaped by the decisions taken by the First and Second Grand National Assemblies of Türkiye.
The 'Payidar (Perpetual)' Gondol was inspired by the crescent and star image adorned with laurel and oak branches on the balcony of the Second Assembly Hall. Generally used as a symbol of victory and peace, laurel sometimes represents heroism, wisdom, beauty, and immortality. Meanwhile, oak symbolizes power, strength and wisdom. The 'Payidar (Perpetual)' Gondola depicts the crescent and star image decorated with laurel and oak branches on the assembly balcony, symbolizing the power of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the importance of the War of Independence under the leadership of Atatürk, the value of hard-won peace, and the perpetuity of the Republic.
The 'Payidar (Perpetual)' Gondola is produced from handmade glass, all relief designs on the vase are decorated by hand using gold gilding.
